Anatomy of the Rubik Cube
A 3x3 Rubic Cube has 6 faces and each face has a different color, namely: white opposite yellow, red opposite orange and green opposite blue. Each face consist of three types of pieces: Edge, Corner, and a fix Center. Each face has 9 small cubes and is arranged in 3 layers top, middle and bottom.
- Edges pieces - has 2 colors
- Corner pieces - has 3 colors
- Center Pieces - has 1 color, attached to an axil, never moved
- 4 Fix Centers Yellow - White; Orange - Red, Green -Blue
Solving the Rubik Cube
- Make A Top Yellow Daisy, Yellow center with 4 white petals
- Create a White Cross - Rotate each white petals 180deg towards the White Center
- Solve the Bottom Layer
- Solve the Second Layer - Form an upside down T
- Create the Yellow Cross - Line, Dot, Angle
- Solve the Yellow Face
- Line (F Right Algo, F')
- Right Angle f Right Algo f')
- Dot Line + Angle
- Position the Corners
- Adjacent swap 2 corners Right Algo x3 Spin Right , Left Algo x 3
- Diagonal Swap = 2 adjacent swaps
- Position the Edges
- Flip White face side up
- Yellow Face bottom
- Yellow corner on right hand side
- Right Algo until Yellow corner goes to the bottom (typically 2 or 3 cycles)
- Rotate base until next yellow corner goes to the bottom right hand side.
- Solve the Final Corner
- Yellow face up
- turn side that fully in place
- Apply Algo - 1 Right Algo, 1 left Algo, 5 Right Algo, 5 Left Algo
- You may need to apply it 2 or 3 time to get it resolved.
Solve Cube 1 layer at a time
- Make a Daisy - Create the Yellow Daisy (4 white pedals and with a Center Yellow)
- Create the White Cross (Flip side of Yellow is White)
- Match the Non-White Sticker to the corresponding side
- Once Match Rotate the non-white sticker 2 times to the bottom
- Repeat steps 3 more time (one for each daisy petal)
- You should have a white Cross at the bottom of the Cube.
- The white cross will be pointing bottom for the entire remainder of the solve
- When you finish, the bottom layer will be solved and the bottom face (White) will be solve
Right Trigger (Right Algorithm) :
- Right Hand 90 deg up ^,
- Right Index finger pull top towards you <,
- Move Right Hand 90 deg back to you V
Left Trigger (Left Algorithm):
- Left Hand 90 deg up ^,
- Left Index finger pull top towards you >,
- Move Left Hand 90 deg back to you V
Solving 1 Layer and Bottom White
- Look for White Sticker facing you on top layer, with white layer facing bottom
- Identify the Sticker on the Side of the With Sticker Red
- Rotate the top until it matches with the Red Center
They are 2 exceptions
4. Solve the 2 layer
- Find the edge piece on top with non-yellow edge piece
- Rotate the top until the side color match
- You get an upside down T form with the same color
5. Goal: Create a yellow Cross on top @15:00
