Corn Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/4  cup butter (1/2 stick)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/4 cups yellow, white or blue cornmeal
  • 1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method

1. Heat the oven to 400°F. Spray the bottom and sides of an 8-inch square pan or 9-inch round cake pan with the cooking spray.

2. In a 1-quart saucepan, heat the butter over low heat until melted.

3. In a large bowl, beat the melted butter, milk and egg with a fork or wire whisk until well mixed. Add the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt all at once; stir just until the flour is moistened (batter will be lumpy). Pour batter into the pan; use a rubber spatula to scrape batter from bowl. Spread batter evenly in pan and smooth top of batter.

4. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Serve warm.


Pumpkin Pie

Ingredients

  • 1  15oz can of Pumpkin pie filling 
  • 1 can of carnation Milk 
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1/4 cups Granulated Sugar 
  • 1 pie shell

Method

1. Bake in oven at 425°F for 15 min and reduce temperature to 350 for additional 35 to 40 mins

2 cups of sharp chedder cheese

1/2 cup of masaralla cheese

1/2 cup of paramasan cheese

1/2 teaspoon of garlic power

1/2 teaspoon of parsle

1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard

Mahonbog Persad

1 tim evaporated milk 

1 1/2 cup of sugar

2 tsp elychee

1 cup raisins

1 tbsp grated ginger

1/2 lb unsalted butter or ghee

2 cups flour, enriched


Salt Butter

Ingredients and Measurements:

1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter

1 cup all purpose flour

1 (12 oz) can of evaporated milk

1 cup whole milk

3/4-1 cup sugar (depending on your taste)

1/4 cup raisins

1/4 cup chopped Maraschino cherries



Medium heat 15 mins 

5 mins cook raisan

Halwaa & Puree (Suhari)

 For the Puree /Suhari, you'll need: 

2 cups flour

2 tablespoon ghee

1 cup water

1/4 cup sugar

1 1/2 cups ghee


For the Halwa Lapsi, you'll need:

1 cup flour 

1 cup sugar 

2 1/2 cups whole milk 

1 cup evaporated milk

1 teaspoon of cardamom (elychee) 

5-6 cloves

1 Siliment or West Indian Bay leaf

Here are the ingredients:

2 tablespoons table salt

2 teaspoons garlic powder

2 teaspoons ground black pepper

2 dried oregano

1 teaspoon ground turmeric


Grind FINE:

1 teaspoon oregano

3 tablespoon Garlic Powder

3 Tablespoon Salt

1/2 Teaspoon turumic
